Cranksgiving podium

From left to right: Chris Hasty, who won the race with an impressive display of accurate routing and perseverance, Michael Popovici, who took second with deftly played stategy of following the guy who won, and Atticus Broadbent, who took third and displayed a toughness most kids his age don't have.

Also deserving of a big pat on the back were Ron Hacker, who took fourth in his first ever alleycat, and Ken Loose, who finished fifth. These top five riders were the only ones (out of nearly 30 starters) that finished the race.

Admittedly, we made it a little hard. A 40 mile alleycat with shopping stops is probably a bit long. We overreacted to the fact that somebody finished our last race in an hour, so we more than doubled the distance. Next time, we'll find the happy medium, we promise.

Thanks for putting on a great Alleycat. It was a blast. Well, the first half was a blast and the second half was just gutting it out.

Was the hardest 40 miles I think I've ever done. Heck, the Hotter than Hell was easier than this and it was more than twice the distance. The stop and go nature of a race like this really makes it tough!

Thanks to everyone that volunteered their time to make this a great race. I can't wait to do it again.

Props to the Podium Guys of Le Gran Tour de Cranksgiving! Thanks Bernie, Jason and Shannon for planning such a fun event (who was the evil genius who made the second half same as the first? - I won't tell.). Thanks to Shannon's wife for the excellent pumpkin pies. you could package those as energy snacks.

The only thing more fun than these alleycat rides is riding with my sons. Thanks for making both possible.

Who was taking pictures at the start? I'd like to have some pictures if possible.

That was certainly fun. You guys know how to put on a fun event. And for ken, here are some pictures courtesy of Ric Ceron.

Great race despite the fact I didn't even attempt to finish. Looking forward to next time!

I'd like to see Atticus get another prize for having a cool-assed name.
