My (minor) beef with the Clean Air Rally

Before I mention my issue with the Route of the Clean Air Rally, I just want to say that i AM grateful that the city is putting it on. It shows that they're concerned with air quality and realize that we can't continue polluting at our current pace.

That said, I think the route of the rally leaves something to be desired. Most of the 15 mile route is on the trinity river bike trail, away from the city streets. This city-sponsored rally has great potential to remind people that the automobile is not the only way to get around our fair city. Can you Imagine the visual impact of 250 cyclists riding through the city, dictating traffic instead of reacting to it?

Of course, Jason and I will do the ride, and we're glad it's being held. But how about next year, City of Fort Worth? Let's make a real statement for cycling as a healthy, clean, and efficient means of transport.
