I just chased down a bike thief. He hopped on Jason's Rat Rod and rode away...
When I caught up to him, the exchange went something like this:
Me: "I came to take that back"
Him (wide-eyed): "Uh... OK" (hands over the bike)
Me: "I wouldn't do that again."
Him: "OK."
The kid wasn't older than 16, just being a punk. It's times like this I wish my phone was a camera phone. I would have gotten his name, snapped his picture, and posted it here for the cycling world to see.

Memorial Day Weekend
I hope all you faithful readers had a great Memorial Day weekend...
Our Friend Ben Cooper had a good weekend; he did 3 category 5 races over the weekend, ending with the State Championship Crit Monday morning. Ben finished 16th, while flying the PCB colors.
Here's Ben's race report:
"I actually did all three races this weekend, so didn't have a lot of juice left for the state crit. The course was still really wet when we started so I hung in the back for the first few laps to make sure that the corners were going to hold up. Then I basically played "catch-up" for the next 30+ minutes and managed to finish just at the back of the pack. With the weather we had this weekend I was pretty happy to make it out of all three races unscathed."
Congrats on a strong showing, Ben!

Another Special Sunday Ride
Many of you probably remember our ride to a Fort Worth Cats' game last year. Well, we're doing it again this Sunday!
So, all you have to do is show up at the shop ready to ride at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 20. We'll have free tickets for everyone, and concessions at the park are pretty affordable. It'll be a fun bicycle outing, so don't miss it. We may even have a special cycling surprise happen at the event...
Give us a call at 817-348-0660 for more info, and feel free to bring all your bicycle riding friends.

this SUNDAY, SUNDAY, SUNDAY!
PCB will be closed for Mother's Day. Don't forget to call your mom.
Also on Sunday May 13, there will be a unique bicycle ride leaving from the PCB parking lot. I'm loosely calling it the "Tour d' FWarchitecture."
The ride will be led by Fort Worth architect John T. Roberts, who is also the esteemed moderator of my favorite Fort Worth discussion board. John will take us on a tour of existing buildings and new construction sites. If you've never been to a gathering of FW Forumers, this is your chance to start. I guarantee you'll have a good time, and learn something while you're at it.
The ride starts here at Panther City Bicycles (1306 W Magnolia Ave) at noon. Riders will tour Fort Worth's south side, as well as the Downtown area. Distance will be moderate, and pace will be casual (so "You guys would have been to fast for me" is not a valid excuse. We'll make sure everybody stays together).
Tour will end at about 2, at which time those who are inclined can join non-cycling forum members at a picnic in Trinity Park.
Come learn more about your city!
